At the age of 14, books became a great escape for the girl who didn’t use to love reading. Ever since, books have been the only constant in Gabriela’s life, a person who has lived in three different cities ( in two different countries!), enrolled infour graduation programs and worked on several unexpected jobs.
In 2010, she launched Está Inspirada (roughly translated as “She is Inspired”), a blog where she could talk about books. Although there were changes in name and platform, she was never really able to let go of the idea of having an online space for the books she read. After all, the power of stories never stopped being her greatest passion and a topic she could discuss forever.
When she earned her B.A in English with a Creative Writing emphasis, she discovered she could turn her true passion into a career, which led her to work harder on her writing skills, while never ceasing to appreciate and to be inspired by other writers’ art. Actually, Gabriela’s writing experience might be the very reason she now sees every book through a new perspective.
Her B.A., earned with honors at Lindenwood University, also opened a new door for her: the possibility of teaching English as a second language. Since moving back to Brazil in 2016, she became an ESL teacher and has helped dozens of students in their goals to achieve fluency in a second language.
In 2021, combining her love for books and her natural talent for languages, she decided to create the Book Conversation Club.
If Gabriela had to define herself in three words, writing, reading, and English would be her choices.
